Because Kids Matter to God

Our mission and purpose is to continue to join together with families as we lead children into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. In order to accomplish that goal, we believe the Children's Ministry at Grace Community Church is worth the BEST of all we have to give. That means that we commit the best use of our resources, the best use of our staff, the best use of our volunteers, and the best use of our time to strive for excellence in our efforts to Children's Ministries because we are in the business of leading people, including children, to a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. Between Waumba Land (preschoolers), UpStreet, (Kindergarten-3rd grade), and 45 Degrees (4th and 5th grades), we average approximately 300 children each week.

In Waumba Land, our preschoolers are introduced to a curriculum that teaches less for more by repeating one key truth all month long, engages the five senses to help master the concept through creative activities, and teaches with the end in mind to help a child by age 5 understand 3 key points:

• God Loves Me
• God Made Me
• Jesus Wants to be My Friend Forever.

Our preschoolers worship every week and we provide parents ideas for conversation with their child at home.

In UpStreet and 45 Degrees, the curriculum is built around 3 basic truths:

• I Can Trust God No Matter What
• I Need to Make Wise Choices
• I Should Treat Others the Way I Want to Be Treated

These truths are amplified through 36 monthly themes and 150 Bible stories. Children spend about 30 minutes in a large group each week which includes worship and a Bible story. They spend about 45 minutes in small groups with the same small group leader throughout the year.

Our Parent Connect workshops offer ideas for you to connect your kids with their faith as you connect with other parents at Grace.  And our annual skating and bowling parties are great times of fellowship with other families.
